There are few things more challenging in life than a mobile 12 month old (a mobile 9 month old perhaps? Ha!) I have photographed Abri since she was a newborn and she’s always been ready to GO GO GO. Her 12 month session was no exception. Sometimes I wish I could record sessions like these in the studio and then play them back sped up so people could watch us run around like chickens with our heads cut off. 😉  It would be entertaining to say the least! Keeping that in mind, I think we grabbed some amazingly sweet images from her session that night, and while she was thoroughly ‘over’ the idea of photos by the time we made it outdoors for a few with Mom and Dad, we even managed to grabbed a couple nice family photos for them to celebrate her milestone. Take a look at some of my favorites from this session below! I absolutely adore all the neutral tones that we used in studio!

All too often I forget to share some of my favorite sessions here on the blog. Today I had a few minutes and had this little family on my mind (as I checked for the 5000th time online to see if he’s arrived yet!) I figured it was a good day to show off this session! This is by far one of my most favorite maternity sessions to date (and that’s saying something because I LOVE maternity sessions!) I’m thrilled with the variety we were able to get by utilizing both the studio and the outdoors to bring two totally different styles to our final images. We were also blessed with some beautiful evening light which always makes my photographer heart SO happy. It may have been chilly outside, but you’d’ never know looking at these two! Here are some of my favorites starting with our studio images!

When most people think of newborn photography, they think of sweet, naked babies posed in props or on fabric and while I obviously offer that style of session with my studio newborn package, I offer something else too and that is a lifestyle newborn session. These sessions can be a great alternative to a studio session when parents contact me after the 10 day window, or they can be scheduled in the first week of life like any other session. They offer a more natural, laid-back approach to your newborn images and in my opinion a more emotional one as well. I have to admit that I have a bit of a soft spot for these sessions! Many parents shy away from the option because they are afraid of being photographed or because they worry their house will be too messy, but when I think back to the first precious days and weeks of my son’s life I remember just staring at him, taking in all his precious features and watching him sleep. A lifestyle  session celebrates and captures that stage of your baby’s life in a way that can be really beautiful. No major posing, no backdrops, no props….just your home and your baby and lots of snuggles captured forever.

Here are some images from a recent lifestyle session that I’m absolutely in love with. Enjoy!

Slowly but surely I will be working back towards some sort of regularly blogging I hope! Today I’m taking part in a awesome blog circle with some amazing photographer friends and the theme is LOVE. Well, when you say love, I think Valentine’s Day! I figured why not share some cuteness from my recent Valentine Mini Sessions for my post and talk about my new-found LOVE for studio photography? Make sure to check out the next post in our blog circle by Love Light Jules photography found HERE!

To explain mini sessions briefly, one of my goals for this year is to build up the studio aspect of my photography. It’s not necessarily an avenue I saw myself pursuing when I started this business, but I have grown to really adore studio shooting and the images that have come along with offering these types of sessions. Part of my goal is to introduce clients to indoor/studio photography through the offering of seasonal mini sessions. While I cannot promise for sure that every year will be this way, I’m hoping to offer 4-5 opportunities this year for clients to book fun, themed sessions at a “miniature” price. My packages will stay relatively the same as they were for this most recent round and I will of course be announcing those sessions dates and details several weeks beforehand both here on this blog as well as my facebook page. In addition to mini sessions, I also offer custom studio sessions year-round for all your baby milestones or child photography needs! See a special flier below about my current special that starts TODAY!

These next images are just a fraction of the cuteness we captured at the [Be My] Valentine Studio Mini Sessions!  While I was a tiny bit bummed we didn’t get any handsome little boys in the studio, these girls really rocked their sessions! Each session was unique and adorable. It’s amazing the amount of personality that can show through even with these shorter sessions!

As for custom studio sessions, I’ve been slowly building up my backdrop and prop addiction supply and I’d love to pick out something fun and special to showcase your kiddo! To celebrate my first full winter offering studio photography, I am running a special for the months of February and March only – 15% off studio sessions for your baby or child! This discount applies to both session packages I offer which do come with their own set of digital files. See details on the image below and feel free to drop me a line through my contact form or on facebook to inquire about availability!
